Default What's the best interior

The carpeting in my 66 fastback was replaced before I bought it. It's real crap and probably was the cheapest available. I want to replace the carpeting and while I'm at it, I want to re-upholster the seats too. Who makes the best?

I don't think youwill go wrong with most of the well known companies such as CJ's, NPD, Mustangs Unlimited.

They all carry ACC carpet, one thing that people forget is that they do need to do some triming, and you have to remove everything from the interior. I know it sounds dumb, but when I worked for California Mustang we would get calls from people that claimed the carpet did not fit. They would send over photos, and they had left something like the shifter in (I think they come with the shifter hole cut now), and cut the hole based on how it was sitting on top of the shifter, then it would get pushed down and be off center. We even had one guy trying to install the carpet without removing the seats "well I thought I could just trim around it, it's not like you can see it"

Has anyone gotten carpet the had the vinyl pad by the gas pedal in the wrong place - meaning too far back from the pedal area?

It's rare but sometimes stuff does get stuck in the wrong place, any time I have had a real issue with ACC carpets, (myself and customers), they always made it right ASAP.

I've had good luck with ACC as well. In fact the moss green carpet I first got for my 66 had a really odd colored vinyl piece on the driver floor and they worked with me to get one with a better match. As for upholstery, I used TMI and found it very high quality with a great fit the first time. I just got a trunk carpet kit from ACC a few months ago and it looks great.

TMI Products and ACC (Auto Custom Carpets) are manufactuers.

CJ Pony Parts
NPD (National Parts Depot)
are retailers that sell them. ACC and TMI are the best.

TMI for the upholstery and ACC for carpet, but order diret from ACC and get the mass backed carpet. The ACC carpet has had all sorts of fitment problems as of late, but supposedly ACC has corrected that. Order from them to insure that you are not getting "old" poor fitting stock.
