Default how many total mustangs were made in 1973?

I previously posted on this subject but had wrong information in my post.
I have a 1973 Mustang (supposedly a Mach 1) with the vin number ending in 135,966, I have been told and read that there were only 134 thousand plus mustangs made in '73, what am I looking at on my title incorrectly?

Your warranty number (VIN) should look something like this: 3R05F135966

3: Model year
R: Assembly Plant
05: Body
F: Engine code
135966: Unit number

Does the rest of your VIN match up (ie. year/model is correct)? Are you just looking at the title, or have you checked the other stampings on the car to see if everything matches? You are correct about the production numbers in '73, the total is just over 134800 units.

Yes, the rest matches up, and the vin pulled up correctly when registering the car at the DMV and with my insurance co. Should I be dropping the 1, and reading this as 35966? The vin shows it was produced in Dearborn , MI., 2V 351, sportsroof.
I am very confused.

With your VIN being 3F05H135966 he "1" is a place holder, your car is actually the 35,966 Mustang scheduled for production.

In 73 there were 134,867 Mustangs built, and of those 35,440 were Mach 1s.

With your VIN your car would have been built around late October of 72. The highest number VIN I have in 73 is 3F03Q277603 that would have been built late June to mid July of 73....exact date is unlisted/unknown. The 26xxxx series was early to mid June.

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.
