Fastest Stock Mustang from the 60's or 70's?

Question. I googled all around and still can't find a 100% for sure answer. Is the 1970 boss 429 or the 1970 Mach1 the fastest stock muscle car? They seem to have better stock quarter mile times then the GT 500's - does anyone know what the FASTEST stock Mustang from the 60's or 70's is. Please advise.

I have no idea but i would put my money on the 429 because my car looks like it!

2005 Mustang GT Auto: Mineral Grey with Black stripes, Steeda UDPs, Flowmaster American thunder Axle backs, Bassani catted X-pipe , JLT CAI, Ford racing 4.10 gears, Cervini here and there.

The most powerful car in the parking lot.

From what I have read, the 1971 Mach 1 powered by a 429 SCJ was the fastest mass produced Mustang in stock form. It was only produced in 1971. The 429 SCJ was the regular type 429, I think Ford called them the 385 series engine for the 3.85 in. stroke. the Boss was a hemi headed engine that used a specific block, because of the angle of the push rods. Jon kaase is building parts to recreate the Boss 429. using heads and intakes he builds and a regular 429 or 460 of after market block. They are bad.

the boss 429 wasn't designed as a 1/4 mile car and only ran 14 second 1/4's at around 105mph (of course that was on polyglass tires) , it was a high revving circle track car

the cobra jet 428 was a much quicker drag car from the factory running deep into 13's the fastest time i've heard on the original style polyglass tires was a 13.60 but with slicks they run 12's

These are supposed to bone stock Fords
#1 '64' Thunderbolt Fairlane 427 (okay, not really a production car) @11.51 sec
#2 '68' 428 Cobra Jet (okay again, prep'd for SS/E spec's) @11.62 secs
#3 63 1/2 Galaxie 427 @ 12.60 sec
#4 '69-70' 428 Cobra Jet @ 12.70 sec's
#5 '64' Galaxie 427 @ 12.71 sec's
#6 "66-67' Fairlane 427 @ 12.90 sec's (neighbor has the dual quad/4 speed)
#7 '62' Galaxie 406 @ 12.96 sec's (neighbor collects them and has one with the tri-power)
#8 '60' Galaxie Special Starliner 352 @13.70 sec's (what a surpise this one was)
#9 '71 Boss 351 @ 13.80 secs
#10 '69' Fairlane Cobra/Cyclone Spoiler 428 cobra Jet @ 13.86 (got mine from the neighbor who has the Galaxies)
Had to dig but found the musty smelling box, from the March '95' issue of Mustang and Fords.
I know a lot of cars not mentioned could run faster but not stock. Take a 427 Dodge wedge and a Hemi, run them both for 10K miles and then run at the strip. The wedge would win 90% of the time.
I can feel the breeze already. Well the best I could come up with.

Fastest top end speed was the 67 shelby super snake he did something like 160 or 180 around a banked oval.Drag racing would probably be one of the drag package cars 68-71.
