My fiance and I have a 1968 mustang that is in the process of a a restoration. It is a 289 2v, automatic, with a vinyl top. My dad and I are working to get it done by next june the wedding.
Good luck on your restoration and your up and coming wedding. You will enjoy the stang when its done. Are you going to perk up the motor and what color are you going to paint it. Make sure that you take a lot of pictures during the work in progress. Here's a couple pictures of my pride and joy.
I eventually am planning on putting on either a holly or edelbrock four barrel, along with a new distributor and possibly a slight bore. The color of the car will be black, with a black vinyl top, with a black interior. The car is a restomod with had crafted hood scoop and spoiler designed by yours truely, and fabricated by my dad. It's running 205/75/14s in front and 225/70/14s in the rear. If you have any questions about the I would be happy to answer them.
Well I havea 1970 Mustang Coupe witha 351C 2V and shaker hood.
I here show one picture of the as I bought it, and then some pictures of the "restoration" I am doing with my father. He is the one that appears on one of the pictures.
I do not consider it a full-restoration since we are not redoing the whole car, just the engine that was not at its best and the body, that needed some uplifting after a minor accident I suffered
Hey you are doing great work. Its going to be a beauty when finished. Its always great when you can restore your own vehicle. Then you know your rig inside and out. Take pride in what you have accomplished, it looks good.
I'm now the second owner of a '68 coupe, all original, sunlit gold with light gold nugget interior and the deluxe package, 289 CID, 2barrel, c-4 auto and 114k miles. this car was well taken care of and all original. i'm going to keep it stock with a few minor changes for sporty looks. sheesh, even the original mustang rubber floor mats are still there. get this (kinda cool.....the hood is a signal hood? the turn signals are in the hood. pretty nifty.
