1967 FASTBACK MSTNG 351/AOD
Hi everyone. I just became a member of this site. I own a 68 coupe. I have finished all the body and paint. I have the interior kit left to put in. Right now the motor is a 302 with nothing special. I am planning on putting 1965 heads on her. I took these off of a 289 that I was using for parts. I will post pics soon.
Cheers
Sean
I have a 68 coupe with P/S,P/B, factory A/C, and an automatic. As for the parts I put in I took the block and opened it up 30 over turned the crank installed a Cran cam (can't remember the duration but its loppier then he11) Cran roller rockers, forged pistons, opened the heads they where 2 barrel heads I ported them out and put 2.02 1.96 vales in them, Edelbrock 4 barrel intake, edelbrock 600cfm carb. As for the tranny a C4 with a 2700 stall, racing cluch bands a valve body from a pinto with B&M shift kit (hits hard real hard). For the rear a 9" detroit locker unit with 2.73(will be upgradeing later on probibly to 3.55). Headers with 2 1/4" pipe all the way back!
Really looking for a good person to do body work I own some of the equipment but really do not like to tackle body work(not enough patiance) thats where I'm stuck.

Hey all, we just found your site yesterday and really like it so far. We have the following: '70 coupe 302 2v(my wife bought this car while in high school in 1977 and it started our stang family), '85 lx vert 5.0(my daily driver), '95 GT 5.0(my wifes daily driver), '95 Cobra w/1,200 miles and yesterday our daughter bought her first car, a 1970 fastback 302. All of our Stangs are original and have no mods.
65 GT fastback, 289 4bbl, A code, 4spd Dagenheim, 8" detroit Locker, 3.50:1, factory discs, foglamps, trumpets, just missing the styled steel wheels, going to get a set of 15x7's when I get back into the car again, put into storage like 10 years ago, will be on the road again in the next year or two. Having too much fun with my 84 1/2 Anniversay Edition, 302 4bbl, non roller motor, bored .030, Tremec 5 spd, 8.8" 3.55:1, torquey cam, optimal shift point 5700 rpm, secondary metering block, totaly worked over holley, 1" phenolic spacer, factory intake, factory heads with only mod being beefy valve springs and milled .010, 86 stainless headers, MAC converters, factory LX mufflers and tailpipes, 15" factory star style wheels, 245 50 ZR16 Goodyear Eagle GS-C's all around, electric fuel pump, polished crank, forged pistons, shot peened rods, High strenghth rod bolts, resized rods, single roller extra wide timing chain, Melling high volume oil pump, chamfered the oil passages, factory ignition, K&N, Motorsport super sport springs, various polyurethane. This is a very factory looking sleeper Mustang that ran high 15's on a good day, now runs 14.2 in the 1/4 with 1.95 60ft. on street tires. All work except engine balance done by myself. Well worth the effort. Even lowered the compression to near 8.3:1 in hopes of installing a Paxton eventually, but will probably save that for the 65.
I am currently restoreing a 1966 silver frost coupe. It has a 200 6cyl auto with factory air. Orig motor and trans w/ only 96000 miles on them. It is stock with a Holley carb. If anyone has any info on the silver frost coupes let me know!
I have a red 1967 coupe. The interior metal parts are color matched to the outside with a black vinyl interior. Mods include a 289 bored .060 over. It has 1969 Windsor heads with stainless steel 1.94 intakes and 1.60 exausts, 7/16 screw in studs with double springs and Norris stainless steel roller rockers. The heads were purchased from Mustang Ranch who had them sent to Gromm Racing for the headwork. It has a Crower beast cam. It's running the MSD billet distributor with the 6AL box and blaster coil. The intake is an Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap topped off by a Holley 650 DP. The air filter is a K&N. I replaced the (old) tri-y headers with Heddman units. I purchased the 3 chamber flows back in 1985. I think that I am due for a new set. The suspension has been "Shelbyized". I have the 620 lb springs which were cut 1", there are 200 lbs. springs out back. All four corners are fitted with Koni shocks (which by the way are still on the softest setting!). I have disks out in the front and have a 9" rearend fitted with a 3.50 traction-lok (or is it equa-lok?). I got tired of fixing the stock C-4, so after the third time blowing it out, I had it professionally built. It hasn't blown up in over 10 years! Man, after looking at this novel that I wrote, I've never really given it much thought on how many modifications that I've done over the years. Man, I'm just glad that I did this BEFORE we had the little monsters!
I have candy apple red 66 coupe with a 289 which was updated with a 302 rotating assembly, 9.5:1 pistons, magum roller rockers, and a crane cam. The original heads were modified to accept 1.90 and 1.50 chevy valves, and I replaced the junk single exhaust with 2 inch dual exhaust. I am rebuilding the suspension with polyurethane bushings, but for the most part, the car is very much "stock".
