Default 1972 Ford Mustang coupe

Hello, folks!

My name is Brad Cobb, and I live in Turlock, California.

I have a 1972 Ford Mustang with 302 V8, (no ac or radio) which I purchased years ago as a dream project, but which I now despair of ever finishing.

Lately I've contemplated letting my Mustang go to someone who will complete my dream of repairing/painting a classic Mustang.

It's condition is:
1. It needs body work and paint, obviously. 2. Interior needs re-upholstered. 3. Front end needs aligned;may need repairs. 4. Advise engine and Transmission be check out and/or gone through. 5 Various and sundry parts replaced...

Any ideas or opinions what my Mustang is worth? Getting a ball-park figure would be a beginning...

Kind Regards,

Brad

If pretty much everything needs to be done you might not want to sell it because as it is it might not be worth nearly what you want. One of the best ways to find out what its worth is to look on craigslist or something and look at the competition. There are always projects being sold on there, i bet someone will have something looking like yours.

I am new here as of today. I have a 1966 coupe T-5 exported to Germany, 289 V2, C4, Raven black, dark red interior, all original, it sat for the past 15 years. I just got it running this week. I got it from the original owner who ordered it and had it sent to Germany when he was in the service.

I'm James. I'm a native of California's SF Bay Area, now living in Tyler, Texas.

I have a '67 Mustang Convertible, built at the Milpitas factory and which lived its whole life in CA until we moved to East Texas. Ironically enough, although we didn't know it was built at the Milpitas factory when we bought it, we lived about three minutes from it. It's now a mall.

It is mostly restored to original. It has power steering, we installed power brakes. It also has the exterior decor package. The motor is a ,040" over 302, for 308ci total. She has a Carter 600cfm 4bbl on a Performer 289 intake, stock heads and cam, Pertronix Ignitor module and Flamethrower coil, 9,2:1 compression, Hedman Hedders, 2" exhaust sporting Cherry Bombs, rebuilt C4 trans, and styled steel wheels. Original paint was Lime Gold, but as cool a color as it is, it doesn't seem to show off well, and we repainted it in Ford's Dark Moss Green.

It has taken many show honors, including two from Mustangs Plus' displays, and I am proud to show it now and then at local events, though it's now my daily driver.

I'm new here too. I own a 1973 convertible. 302-2v, 3 speed automatic. Mostly stock. It was my daily driver for about 2 years back in the early 90's. Became a daily driver again in '98 till I parked it and started work on it in '01. It sat outside(no garage then) for three years, and looks a bit rough now.

It was Vermillion red with a black interior. Now it's Vermillion red in some areas(haven't sanded those yet), and two shades of primer gray. Only mods so far are a slightly larger than stock cam(engine rebuilt in '94), Pertronix ignitor module, Hedman headers, and dual exhaust. I know they bored the engine when the rebuild was done, but can't remember how much. Have to ask my dad, he'll remember.

It has been in 4 car shows since I bought it, taking home a 2nd place in '97, and a 1st the following year. I'm in the process of restoring it again. Got some plans for it, but it will remain mostly stock. It'll be more for show then go..

Hi, I'm also new to this forum. I have a '66 fastback that I just got back from the painter. It's Agua exterior and has the pony Agua and White interior. Just purcashed a Ford Racing 351 Windsor crate motor that still in the crate (392ci), T-5 World Class 5 speed (still in the box), SBB front disc brake conversion w/power (still in the box). Still need rims & tires.... I'm in the process of putting everything back together and will be doing so for the next few months. Should be a nice ride when done...

Exciting to find this wonderful Mustang web-site!!
I have a 66 w/ 3spd 289 v2, candy-apple red, and deluxe interior...not nearly as "unique" as most that are listed here...but it is special to me.

I drove this car from 1986 (when I started driving) until 1990. Around 1988 when I smacked a tree - made the necessary repairs but was unable to fund much needed bodywork (previous rust). Anyway, it has been sitting idle for nearly twenty years (about five years ago a quick tune up was performed and I was able to drive it around my block…and it felt good) – and wife has been gripping ever since I moved it into the garage…so sad to say, the time may be near to let it go.
Like many of you know…it is very difficult to give up on your Mustang…especially your first Mustang. Would like to find somebody who could give me an idea as to what it would cost to perform a “overhaul” to this car - probably better off just buying a “new” classic Mustang…but I love the one I have.
Anyone know of any quality body shop in North-Eastern Illinois – maybe one that specializes in Mustangs? Thanks

Hi All,

I have a 1967 Mustang Coup, 289 2 barrel w/ no major mods. It is a "Lone Star Edition," just one of 175 originally produced. In the process of doing a complete restore. Not bad now, but it will be much better in time.

My Mustang is a '69 Mach I, 428 super cobra jet with drag pack. Trany is 4 speed close ration with 3:91 gears. The car is all original and has 24,683 documented miles. Numbers matching the only part on the car that did not come from the factory, with the car, is the power steering ram cylinder which I replace with NOS equipment. Because of the color and accessories that were added at the factory it is a 1 of 1.

Hey everyone! I just came into a fully original 64 1/2. Grandma and Grandpa always took very good care of it, as you can see from the pics. They stored it in there garage and only towed it to car shows for the last twenty years. It is my dream car!!
I have a question though. Since it is all original, what can I dress up without messing up any authenticity? Would adding steel-braided hoses and chrome valve covers screw anything up? Just some ideas I was thinking of, any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for any help.
