I have a black and tan 2000 GT convertible w/5-speed (bone stock) and a dark green w/twin silver stripes, 68 fastback. It is a 428 with a real FoMoCo low rise intake off a 63 427 R-code Galaxie(that car is no more), big spline top-loader and 3.50 gears in a 9-inch of course, suspension is all stock w/ stock size rubber (14-inchers) and still runs 9.00 at 81 in an 1/8 mile. All the pics are on my sons gallery:http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...&ppuser=:green

the mustang get a mildly built 289, if you call 300hp mild, with a top loader 4spd, for now, tcp subframe connectors and center cage, havent decided about the suspension yet, but the brakes will be one of two settups, either 65tbird discs up front with 64 tbird front drums in back, or a 4 wheel disc system with the 65 tbird front discs and not sure about the rear. a guy on another forum is going to build rear disc brackets for the early mustangs and i might get a set from him.
i realize they are not mustangs, but the grand marquis gets a 351w making about 300hp, and a decent suspension and 4 wheel discs from a 98+ crown vic.
the falcon gets a built 250 inline, with either 3 1bbls, or 3 throttle bodies and a megasquirt fuel management system, and an aod, with 3.73 gears out back, and granada discs with tbird rear drums.

I have inherited a 67 auto., V-8 289 Mustang. It was my mother's car and I took my driving test on it in 1967. It was not running. I have replaced fuel tank, fuel pump and rebuilt the carburetor and other minor repairs. I got it running but now I have a power steering leak-possibly hoses or control valve or cylinder not sure. Now I need help-nuts on bolts are welded by age and the elements-have applied a variety of anti- seize and/or -corrosion sprays-any suggestions? Any suggestions for mechanics in the Gaithersburg-Frederick Maryland Area? I'm real picky on who works on this car which is why I (who only observed and held tools for my Dad years ago) have attempted this project. I guess I've given way more info then requested.
