Ron,
The only reason I made the statement about "Califonia Specials" is because most people have no idea High Country Specials were ever made, let alone from '66-'68. Ours is an original Colorado car, delivered and stayed right here in the Centennial state. In '66 and '67 the High Countrys' were only available in three colors...timberline green, columbine blue, and aspen gold (our color), they also were equiped with a metal badge on the front fender, as opposed to a sticker on the '68's like the Califonias. In '68 you could order the High Countries and the Californias in any color Ford used, and any custom color you wanted.
Sorry about the long post, just wanted to give you guys a little history on the very special High Country Special.

Just found this site. Although I do not currently own a Mustang, I have to state that my all-time favorite (and most memorable) car I've ever owned was a 1970 Boss 302. It was wimbledon white with a shaker, front and rear spoilers, but no louvers!! It also had the optional factory Detroit locker with 4.30's. The best part about my old car was the interior. Most Boss's came with the plain Jane standard interior. Mine had a deluxe cloth (red) with plaid seats. I have yet to see another Mustang with this interior and to the best of my knowledge, this seat pattern is still not reproduced. Oh, what memories.....
I have a 1966 coupe with 302 roller motor with a b303 cam, ported accelerator intake, ported e-7 heads with motorsport 1.6 roller rockers, holley red electric fuel pump, holley 650 double pumper, electric fan, mac long tube headers, flowmasters, t-5 conversion, 3:50 positrac. I have a pic of it but it is still pending
