I've read that there were only 10, Passionate Pink Mustangs made in 1968. Does anyone know if that's true? How would I verify the car I've found is one of those 10?
I was hoping to find an answer quicker than the 2-4 weeks it would take to get the product from Mariauto.
The car I've found is for sale. I don't want to buy it if it's not an original Passionate Pink Mustang. But it will probably be sold in a couple weeks.
Does anyone already have a Martiauto product that can check out this VIN number? 65A 2A 07B710778 2W
The color code is blank.
Color code being blank is a good sign! It's likely Marti Auto would take your credit card number for the report and give you the related color code information over the phone.

Looks fake....Passionate pink was only produced for sale in February and this car was made on Feb 7 making it highly unlikely to be delivered for Febraury sale. Also a true Passionate pink would've come from the Denver District Sale office (51), not LA(71). The good news is that this may actually be a Playboy car which is just as rare and the 1/4 panel does match the other Playboy pink car I have seen. (The date of quarter panel change was Feb 15th)

you could go ahead and sell "Mary Kay" with that car..lol
Also the Playboy cars had rumble seats in them basically for parades.

I purchased a brand new 1968 factory pink Mustang coupe in March of 1969 from Marv Tonkin Ford in Portland Oregon for $2056.00. The color code is blank/special so it does not say what color the factory painted it. The car was equiped with the California smog pump. The car is a 3 speed, 200 cu in six and the only extras on the car were the wsw and hupcaps.
I still have the car 250,000 miles later, it looks great and is not pink any more. If you want to see if it is a orginal pink one from the factory pull the plugs where the front seats come through the floor on the underside of the car and you will see the orginal car color.
I believe Ford had painted some 1967 Mustangs pink but it was a different shade from the 1968.
I will try and answer any other questions if I can.
