Hey dodgestang, what does your Mustang run in the 1/4? And what kind of components do you have on that 408?

Weiand Aluminum High flow water pump
No PS, No PB
Underdrive single ‘V’ groove crank pulley, water pump pulley and alt pulley
Mechanical Fuel Pump
Cloyes Double Roller Timing
MSD Billet Aluminum Small Diameter Distributer
MSD Blaster III coil
MSD High Capacity Wires
MSD 6a box
Spal 16inch electric fan
long tube headers
3 inch x pipe into 3 inch 2 chamber flowmaster then stepped down to 2.5 inch and mandrel bent over the rear axle.

All running though an AOD and 9 inch rear.

Chassis Dyno Sheet

I broke the tranny the night before I was supposed to take it to the track so I don't have any 1/4 slips. It won't be all the fast in the 1/4 miles though because I built the car with a road course suspension setup. It is pretty quick and quite nimble though and it is a blast on the street.

What lift is your cam? I would expect more HP and definitely more torque out of a 408.

I think me way have highjacked this thread anyway...

This is a VERY mild street motor.

Lift is .58 or so on the intake and exhasut with just a standard hydro cam. I also picked a low rise open plenum intake for spacial considerations.

If I wanted to I could pop in a nice soild set up and a blue thunder intake and be much higher but that would counter to what I built the car for. I built it to be a suedo sleeper...nothing pokes out of the hood but it will run you to 7k in a heartbeat. I'm made some 'timkering' mods since that dyno...rebuilt the carb, added a 1/2 carb spacer (open) the goal for this motor was 400 RWHP and it made that goal. I made almost the same torque with a different cam but only 300 RWHP in a previous build
