Installing Boss side scoops on a 69 coupe

Has anyone does this? I like the look of the Boss side scoops but I dont know if it would even be feasible seeing as how the coupe fenders aren't nearly as pronounced as the Boss. (could just be the angle of the car, not sure)

I understand the phrase anything is possible, and I am rather handy, but would it be possible to do something like this or will the side scoop look out of place?

Those scoops aren't specific to the Boss. They are the regular fastback scoops. I've seen them put on a coupe once and didn't look too bad.

sent from somewhere...

did they have to fabricate a fastback fender to replace the coupe fenders to have a better fit?

All 1969 fastbacks had those vents. They were a one year style attempt. They have a special bracket assembly recessed into the quarter panel and it's held in place by 4 nuts.

oh ok thank you, i guess i would have to shy away from them since i dont really want to be replacing already strong coupe fenders with fastback ones.

do you have any suggestions to shelby side scoops that you have seen on 69 coupes?

Which ones, the ones in the front wings, or the ones in the quarter panels? I've never seen a coupe with the side scoops, other than on the 65-66 on the c curve behind the door.

Yeah the fastback had wider more round quarter panels it won't work.On overhaulin they put the fastback quarters on a convertible and had to make a trunk out of the two but looked good. There is the 69/70 shelby convertible side scoops you can use they mount low like the 64-68 cars had.Look at Mustang Side Scoops

Thank you, I actually just got back from Mustang Unlimited and bought these: http://www.mustangdepot.com/OnLineCa...fs-m222r-l.jpg

I do have a question though, when i mount, am I trying to make the front edge with the vent opening parallel to the door line or the top edge parallel to the body line above it?

thank you all for your help

I think the vent opening should be parallel with the door. I think those scoops come real close to the door seam and will look off if not lined up.
