Default Dimensions on 66 rear tray?

I am currently slowly going through some restoration of my 66 mustang coupe, and my car is in need of a new rear tray (the piece under rear window, between the back seat and the window). I have currently had a shitty rear tray which i put in real quick one day, just cause i needed one, and now i am looking to put in a perfect and cover it with black leather to match my interior, also wanting to put elevated speaker holes/mounts for my 6x9's.

Anyways the reason for this post is to see if some one could give me the exact dimensions of the rear tray, becuase i find it a bit difficult to get exact measurements with the rear window in, and also my car is at the shop for some body work, so dont have access to the actually car for measurements, and would like to get this project done for when it gets back from the shop.

So if you have the measurements or know of somewhere i can get them, it will be greatly appricated. Thanks

Hello. I don't think that actual dimensions would be very useful to you since the package shelf has a big curve along the back side. How most folks do that is to use a cheap, raggedy one for a template to make a good one out of 1/4 inch plywood or something.Hope that helps.

I would just wait till you can access the car. Make a template out of cardboard peices and tape and then just transfer it to whatever your final material is going to be. It should only take a few hours start to finish.

Now that i think about, it probably would be easiest to wait to make the template with cardboard and then go from there. Thanks guys for letting me see the logcially easiest way to this project....
