69 Mustang " Mach 40"
Okay, not much happening here tonight in this forum section (like most nightd) so lets just get something started.
I'm curious if any of you "die hard builders" and "resto moders" have noticed the 69 mustang featured in this months Hot Rod magazine? Its a 69 mustang converted into a GT 40 platform built by Eckerts Rod & Custom.
I happen to think its amazing. The extent of design and fabrication is unbelievable ! The drive train is actually out of a wrecked Ford GT-40 (just where in the hell do you find one of those) The car sits 43-1/2" from roof top to Pavement. (not quite the GT40 spec but damn close
You can go to Eckerts Rod & Custom website and view several hundred pictures of this project. I also attached one of their photo's. Eckert's Rod & Custom : Projects

It looks like a Challenger platform to me.

Ive seen that floating around online, the amount of body work put into it is unbelievable, i like it
Hot Rod magazine has a spread on it also. Totally unique, the side profile is all vintage Ford.

Love the color they went with. Haha. Check out the last pic of it in HR magazine. The view of the whipple in the back window has gotta make you smile.

I went to thier web site and looked at the photo shoot of the build..please, take a few minutes and check it out-it will turn into 20 minutes....it is amazing how much work was performed and the end result. I think that is the coolest custom I have ever seen...Somebody has some deep deep pockets ! This is not one of those "it seemed like a good idea at the time" outcomes. wow:bigthumbsup:bigthumbsup
