You may just need to adjust your shift linkage. I have a very similar problem with my '
Stang. I back down my driveway in the morning and shift it into drive to get on my way and... nothing... Park... Drive... Park... Drive... Park... Drive THUNK. There we go! And it doesn't happen again until it's been sitting for a while. I've just been too lazy to fix it.
Anyway, just my two cents, but you might check that out before you spend the money to have it overhauled...
