Default Where have all the fastbacks gone?

It's spring down here and we have had a spat of local carshows that the local clubs put on each year. I enjoy 'em but was wondering...where are all the fastbacks? There are plenty of coupes but I can't remember the last time I've seen a fastback at a local show. What gives? Is my basketcase that rare? I thought this hobby was about sharing your cars with others. If you've got a car show it! who cares if it isn't perfect...it's still cool.

They're all in the process of being converted to Eleanor clones.

Kidding.. :P

Seriously, the prices have gone through the roof over the last couple years. I think they're being hoarded with plans to resell.

Actually I think you may be more right about the "attack of the clones" than you may think, I personally hate the things. The problem down here is that people sit on their cars. Ask them if they want to sell them and you get a "well I'm going to restore it one day." This from a guy who doesn't have the money to pay for the bills he's got now and no prospects for things to ever get better. Meanwhile the car sits out in the yard slowly rotting away until it's to far gone to be saved. Pretty sad. A lot of good cars are being wasted. I understand wanting the car and having a dream to oneday put it back together but a healthy dose of reality is really needed around here.

Mine is only being turned into a Shelby clone!

Yeah, there is one around the town I'm from...but there are a couple that are being restored. With the prices going up, people are taking the cars more seriously and doing a better job of building instead of just throwing a driver together.

Maniac!
