It is a lot of work but worth it in the end!
My 1 piece of advice for the project:
Do something, ANYTHING, each day on the car to keep it moving forward. It can be as little as asking a question here or buying parts you will need. Projects tend to die if they sit without your "company" for too long.
Also set up a blog or website to post pictures and work you have done. TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES!!! You have no idea how valuable it will be in the feature for you.

A blog will also allow others to follow your project and maybe help them with with their project. It is free and it can be set up easy. You posted pictures here so can easily do it. It will also serve as a living document for the car if, heaven forbid, you should ever need to sell or replace it.
