Yesterday I got the new hood on and the front stripped, except for the lower valance. This I will have to cut off.

Wow, lot of work to be done. But when it's done, it's gonna be worth so much to you I'll bet you'll never sell it. I have a '65 that was in way worse condition. My Godfather bought it and worked on it off and on, but got bored with it. So he sold it to me and now I'm finishing it up. Good luckrestoring it, and if you ever have a question just ask.

The floorboards are giving me fits. I bought the separate front and backs and cannot seem to get them to fit right.

PLEASE tell me you are going to keep the 200. I am so tired of people saying I want to replace it with a 302 or 289, no offense to anyone.

Yes keeping the 6. It has around 60,000 original miles on it. And the 6 is what gives it character. Nothing like a inline 6.

Thank you! I am currently rebuilding my six (that is when I get home from vacation in Florida). The piston head on cylinder #4 cracked and started falling apart when I took it out. Why did you have to cut the front valance off?

I did. I cut that off and have a new one. I also put on fenders I bought in PA at that car show, Carlisle (sp) . I bought some Chassis saver paint when I had the front end off. Painted all the necessary areas with that.

Every bolt on this car is so rusted I had to break them with impact wrench and that was after numerous spraying.

I am going to take a run to Mac's Mustang soon and bring the remaining parts I need to save on shipping.

Hey, if you want, I have a set of 65-66 Mustang taillamp housings, bezels, and lenses. You would need the old mounting hardware, the body to panel gaskets, and new screws to hold the bezels on. There is super minor pitting on the bezels. The bezels and lenses are reproductions that were on my car. I replaced them because a friend of mine gave me a box of parts including 3 sets of taillamp housings, 3 sets of bezels (one pair almost new, but they were original), and one set of original lenses. I took the repros off my car just to replace them with the original bezels and lenses. I also changed my taillamp housings because one of them had leaked and was rusting inside. Send me a message. I am in Florida right now, but I will be home in Pittsburgh on the 12th or 13th.
