Thats not an easy question to answer what condition is the car your looking at buying in and what do you want to do with it?

If you buy a car in sound condition ,look after it & maintain it properly you will find it gives you few problems.

If the body checks out ok with a magnet and is ready for paint you will need to allow about $1000 for new interior, plus the cost of paint job(how much do you want to spend) ,plus any mechanical work ,wheels ,tyres ,badges ,chrome work & modifications needed or wanted.

If the car is really good and you don't want a concours paint job you might get away under $1k but It would be possible to spend $10k plus if you dont do any stuff yourself

yeah, a decent paint job that will last is going to cost you at least $7000, unless you do a lot of the prep work yourself .. .

it's not hard, but it requires a lot of patience.
