What is the other info listed on the door tag? Specifically I'm asking what's listed under "DSO"?

Any number listed between 90 and 99 is an export vehicle. What number does your car have?

I don't know why there would be a "3" instead of a "C". I have only seen a few export cars here at shows and they all had a correct engine designation using a letter.

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.

Don't know about import/export but "T" represents a 6 cyl car. Is it 4 or 5 lug?

I think the "3" denotes an export-only 289, which had lower compression than the ones sold in the states.

The number 3 is a valid code it designates a 289 8cylinder 2 barrel carburetor engine with low compression. I also believe this was an engine used for export only. Good luck with your car.---Chuck
