What rear end? What engine? What transmission? What cam? What intake? What Carb? Compression ratio? How will the car be used? How much does gas mileage matter?

Without knowing anything, I'll guess and say 3.50:1 Trac-Lok.

302 C4 stock auto trans, comp magnum cam, edelbrock 4 bbl carb650 cfm, edelbrock intake idle-5500 rpm, car is a daily driver but want a quick daily driver if that makes sense : / and dont know much about compression ratio, dont care about gas mileage already pretty low

I vote 3.25 Trac-Lok and no stall convertor. For a DD you really don't need or want one.

The original converter is hugh if you go to a higher stall around 2000 rpm the converter will be smaller, meaning less rotating mass the higher rpm will cause it to hit the tires harder. I have replaced several stock converters, it is one of the best power adders that can be added to a ford. Call Jegs or Summit to confirm. You will not be dissatisfied. I believe the original converter is 13" across you will probably go down to 10" when you order a 2000 rpm stall.

One what? Running a stock convertor with your combo is just fine. I disagree with the other poster. I think a 2000 stall is a wate of money, I know the stock AOD convertor stalls about 2200 behind a built motor and I cant help but think the convertor in your C4 is similar

yes that is a big as you can go with the stock converter. I have a suggestion go ahead put the cam and carb and whatever else you have. Then drive it for a while, and then put a stall converter in. And then you can tell me the difference.
