Default I need help picking a welder?

I just want to say, sorry if someone has posted this before, but I have tried to search and I can't find anything similar enough to answer my question.

I am looking to buy a welder and start to learn the wonderful world of welding. I learned the basics about 4 years ago on oxy/actyl and I cant really remember much. I am looking to get back into it and I am curious what type of welder is good to start with.

I am looking to do some simple welding but I would like to try things like grilles and dash work. Just some small fabrication things. I am also looking to do some floor pan and cowl work, but I am just a little confused on what welder is fairly universal and how easy it is to weld using any of the machines.

I hope someone can help me. Thanks for the input.

Any small mig will do the trick for your floor pans and cowl work. But I'm picky when it comes to details like the dash. You may need to practice tig welding and that's a little pricey.

Go to your local Sears, or Tractor Supply, or farm store and get a small mig welder and some scrap metal and start practicing. It'll all come back to you.

Ya I would go with a small Miller Mig welder, they're the easiest to use along with the 75% Argon mix gas shield. I learned on a stick welder first and when you can stick and Oxy Actyl weld you can do most of any kind of welding.
