Default Another New Guy.'66 GT Coupe w/Question

Hi everyone ! This is my first post since joining. Sure glad I found you guys !

I own a '66 GT coupe,4 speed manual,Wimbledon white in nice condition. All original from what I can tell. ALL numbers match etc.. Anyway........

I have a quick question: I've been driving past this primer gray '66 coupe 289, automatic which is in need of some TLC. I finally stopped today and inquired. Little rust (CA black plate) engine sounds great but leaks anti-freeze (might be freeze plug, not sure). Clear title,no data plate and looks as though someone used a grinder to remove it. Needs interior, gauges don't work and so on. One good project car. The guy wants $3,300 for it. Wondering if that's a fair price for it. It does need work but I'm thinking it might be worth the $ since the rust issues are minimal. What do you guys think? I'm open to ANY suggestions. Thanks so much and again.......I'm really glad I found you guys !

Steve

I'll get pics posted as soon as I can. I can't go anywhere in it especially if I need to get stuff done.......because those things NEVER get done if you know what I mean. I've done alot of checking to be sure it's a true factory GT and can find no reason to believe it's not. Anyway......it's a fun car !

well it all really depends on where you live cause like me i live in SC and you can go to any junk yard an find at least 3 or more mustangs there every where around here and in the last year iv picked up 2 coupes one of them is a 289 changed to a 302 car i picked up for 1600 very little rust in both so if it was me id talk him down way down but you may not be in an area that has alot

speaking of that i have the inline six car in the adds part of this site for $2500
