Default 1969 Mustang Vin Location

I bought a '69 Mach 1 for $3000 ,which I thought and the guy I bought it from was a 351c car originally, when he gave me the title it turns out the car is a 428 scj drag pack car,the vin is stamped on the apron but it is not on the dash anywhere,it looks like a aftermarket dash.where is the vin plate located.

In 1969 the dash VIN plate was on the driver's side.

If the dash pad has been replaced it's possible it got bent down and is under the pad and not visible. Removing the pad is the only way to check. If it has been removed you will see either two holes where it was or the base of it still attached.

Great find on a 428 SCJ!

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.

No, not anymore. You used to be able to but Ford pulled the license away after they caught people changing VINs to different engine codes to make a car more valuable. You can only get door tags reproduced now.

NPD and some other Mustang suppliers do offer a decal of the black border that goes on the tag.
