Default Round or Rectangle that is the question..(radio antenna)

Hey guys, for anyone who knows......was the radio antenna for 64-66 coupes etc. round or rectangular. I'm getting mixed answers to this question. Don't want to make the mistake of putting the wrong one on my car. Thanks ! Steve

Hello. The base was round. 69 was the first year that mustangs had the rectangular antenna base.

Thanks for your responses Now tell me......did the round originals base slant slightly or were they straight? I bought one that has a slant to the base. (tell me they slant, tell me they slant). For some reason the previous owner had a rectangular retractable installed. Just doesn't look right. Too modern looking
