Default Why do some fastback have the round & retangle speedometers?

Just curious why they differ

The rectangular ones were on the earlier ones, courtesy of the Falcon which the early Mustangs shared many parts from.

I'm not sure the exact deciding factor, but it may have been the early 65s (64 1/2 to some) that were generator equipped.

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.

In '65 the standard was the rectangular...and with the GT package you got the round speedo with the other guages as opposed to warning lights. Then in '66 all had the 5-dial cluster

oh ok. The mustang i got was basic since it was a C code. but it has a bigger engine than K code but the previous owner installed a bunch of round gauges all over so I got the other instruments covered. I was just curious but I prefer the retangle.
