Default Need Advice on Restoration Guide

Hey, Can anyone recommend a good book on Mustang restoration? There are so many out there and the prices vary widely. Any suggestions on a good comprehensive guide? Thanks fellow Stangers. Steve

"Late Model Mustang Restoration and supply" or Dallas Mustang. Also you can find CD tech manuals with original pics from tech guides from the dealership on eBay along with original part #'s on them, and tech guides, hopups you name it.

If you are looking for a resto book for model years 1964 1/2 to 1970, I have a recomendation for you. This book has been in print for quite a while it is called "Mustang Restoration Handbook" by HP Books. The authors are Don Taylor and Tom Wilson. This is available from most resto vendors and Barnes & Noble also Books a Million. It retails for about $20. It covers about everything and has good illustrations. All the best,---Chuck

Hello. By far, the most useful book to use as a restoration guide is the appropriate year model shop manual. The MCA judging rules book is a good one. The book mentioned by the Greek is very good for part numbers. It has a whole bunch of application charts to tell you what part your particular car should have as far as which carb, radiator, etc... It doesn't have any actual 'how to' in it though. If, by restoration, you mean to return the car to 'as original', except have everything work and fit well( they didn't do all of that brand new) then going to shows and asking questions of people that probably know what they are talking about is very helpful. Hope that helps.
