Default Just purchased my first Mustang, a 1966 !

Hello everyone, well my dream has come true, I am the owner of a 1966 Mustang coupe, 289,2v,aoutomatic,ps,springtime yellow. The best things about her...all original, not modified or molested in any way, and that's the way she's staying. 82,000 original miles, very minimal rust. A spot on the frame by the driver side shock tower, and a small hole in the passenger shock tower. Seat pans, frame rails, rear suspension all look real nice, needs a good cleaning and coating ,but definatly solid. Rear main seal has a leak, oil pan has a small leak. Drives beautifully, straight and even, no rattles or shakes. All black interior, darn near perfect.Had new ehaust[pipe and muffler], brakes[one line, shoes, and cylinders], radiator hoses, battery, major tune up, transimission screen and filter replaced and more done about 1500 miles ago.[came with $2,000 in reciepts.]
I purchased the car from BCD Preservations, Harrington, Delaware. The owner, Kenny, spent about 3 hours going over the car with me and just talking general stuff, I have a million questions, being a newb, and he answered all of them. Just a small shop, a couple building on a country road, but he's done some award winning work, definatly check him out if your in the area[south delaware that is...]He only does mustangs. I had 10,000 to spend, I got her for 7500, so I'm puting the remaining 2500 into her.Being new and not really knowing anyone in the hobby, it's great that I got the car from Kenny, it's a huge plus having a mechanic come with the car.I posted the pics that came with the car, and I'll post more as it comes along......Lenny

Welcome to the site and there's plenty of us here to help if you need it.

Nice car, I don't see Springtime Yellow cars often where I am. For the price you paid and the condition the car looks to be I'd say you got a good deal especially with it being a 289 car.

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.

Have any interior pics? I myself which I liked the coupe's more than the fastback b/c it cost me lots of $$$ to gte my fastback. The only thing in mine that is not original is the 351w engine modified to a 383 but I don't mind the bigger engine

Oh, I 've been looking for a while, and had hoped I could get a fastback, but soon realized it was not going to happen for 10 grand. A rustbucket maybe, with no $$$ left to put into it. But I'm stoked to say the least with my purchase.......

Nice car. Congratulations. I'd get some Styled Steel wheels and a dual exhaust.
