Default some rust on 1965 Mustang rear frame rail. How serious?

Hi All,
I recently picked up a 1965 mustang coupe. I noticed that it has some rust on the rear frame rail just in front of the suspension schackel ( I think that is how you spell it. Anyway the rust is not all the way through the rail in any spot however it looks like it is a couple of layers in the metal.First how common is this. How much should I worry and lastly what is a ball park to have something like this fixed. Any assist would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much! I guess now I just wait for a response!

Take it all apart and do a full restro. Box the stock frame with more metal or replace the entire frame a peace at a time or to what experience level u are at. If I am guessing you are going to want to hot rod it so do it right, make it strong and dependable. Don't just patch what might look like a small thing, pull everything apart and see what u have they don't call rust "cancer" for nothing u never know how bad it really is until u do surgery to see how far it goes and how bad.

Rear frame rails are very common problem is classic mustangs. Frame rail replacements are readily available at any Mustang restoration supplier.

You can weld it in yourself, or if you know someone who is handy with a welder, use them. When you do start cutting, look at every piece of the frame and any area that may be affected. Look at front frame rails, radiator supports, cowl vents, floor pans, etc.

Try Mustangs Unlimited or NPD Mustang Unlimited

NPDLink | National Parts Depot

Do some research and see where the closest one is for the best price. I don't know where Avon, IN is but I live in crawford county Indiana and I use Virginia Classic Mustangs and Mustangs unlimited.

You're closer than I thought you were. I thought you were close the Chicago/Gary for some reason.

Crawford Co. is in the middle of the BOTTOM of the state where the horseshoe bend is in the Ohio river. It's pretty down here.
