Default Buying a 1965 Mustang got some questions

Hey guys i saw a 1965 mustang for sale not sure if it gt or not but im not concerned as of right now.

My main question is that I have a ford racing 302 bolted to a tremec TKO600 and if i get this stang i would like to drop that setup into it. Now if i do what must i obtain in order to complete the swap/installation. Im not sure if the car is stick or auto or what engine it currently has. But it looks like the guy was working on it as a project car so i have a feeling it has a V-8 probably a 289. Now thats the same block as a 302 so i dont see any real problems as far as putting my engine in its place. The tranny is what has me wondering. Now if i cant put that tremec in it what way should i go. I want a solid stick. I need a tranny capable of taking a lot of horsepower and torque. The engine is pushing 360hp and 300 something as far as torque goes. Not too sure on torque right now all i know is it has some serious power.

I plan to really use the car as a street/strip car. Sort a daily driver that can put the local ricers in their place. Once im done i plan to have atleast 5-6 hundred horsepower. Either by means of forced induction or possibly serious N/A tuning. Id rather build a solid engine and keep it N/A as forced induction on carbs isnt that easy as far as turbos go. I want to really use one of the oldschool blowers but i can only find them for the damn chevy engines and that doesnt help me at all.

Thanks in advance for any help i really apreciate it.

An old Top Loader is just as strong as anything else, you just wont have the overdrive.

You might want to look into a tunnel or cross ram intake set, you can get 500 hp out of a 302 N/A without too much trouble, it just wont be too "streetable" in the common sense of the word and it will just cost a little more. Good luck with it.
