Default 1965 Mustang Suspension

I just got my first mustang. 1965 fastback. I want to build a road race car. What are some good sites for suspension? Thanks

What type of set up would be the cheapest and give the best results?

Both are excellent sources for suspension upgrades.Mustangs Plus has been around a long time, they would be a better source as far as a more basic and cheaper set up.Total Control is more hi tech, meaning not as basic, and therefore is a bit more expensive

the true question id like to know is all the aftermarket upper and lowers trully any better they seem to have more adjustability ..but heck shelby raced his cars on stock upper an lower arms ...how much do they really improve cornering ..is it worth it for a street/strip car that doesnt corner to much anyhow?

Buy a set and you will see. Because of my budget, and my desire to get this car on the road by next fall, i decided against the coil overs, but managed to find a great deal on some brand new control freak control arms (exactly the same as global west). After removing my stock arms, I could immediately tell that they were a weak point in the suspension. They were frail, flimsy stamped steel parts, and I could actually flex the lowers by twisting them by HAND. The tubular ones i purchased weigh about the same, but are MONSTERS. I was blown away when i received them, and KNOW they will make a difference in handling. There will be ZERO deflection and tweaking, and i will be able to adjust my camber (and caster with my new adj. strut rods) to good, high performance specs.

If you find the tubular variety are a bit too expensive for you, i suggest checking out http://www.maierracing.com

They take stock arms and computer realign them, and then brace them with boxed steel. It looks like a very effective product, and they have them on their own road race cars. Check out their videos as well, the cars handle great with them on.

Opentracker racing is THE man! No need for really fancy stuff, just lots of roller bearings and every trick Ford used back in the 60s.
