Default Gearvendors Over/Under drive

Is there anyone out there using a Gearvendors over/underdrive unit? I am seriously considering purchasing one but am unsure how the switch from normal to overdrive works in real life acceleration runs. Coordinating a manual shift on the automatic while simultaneously activating or deactivating the overdrive sounds cumbersome for someone who can't walk and chew gum at the same time.

Any real world experience out there??????

I know a lot of people using them in older RVs and trucks with lots of towing and hauling and I know a guy using one in his 66 GT350H clone. They are absolutely bulletproof and it seems to show in the price. Everyone seems to love them too.

If you leave the OD switch on, you'll have 1st, 1st OD, 2nd, 2nd OD, 3rd, and 3rd OD. Turn it off and it's just like normal. Going down the highway at 60 in 3rd OD, flip the OD off and it will drop down into 3rd. The guy with the mustang loves that capability because it hits 2500rpm as soon as he shuts off the OD and that's where the powerband is on his stroker motor. That's about when he likes to nail it, then it kicks down to 2nd and hits 120+ in a heartbeat.

No real need to be both switching off the OD and shifting at once.

I have one on my Mustand and I love it. The unit is also tied into your speedo. It has a manual and auto button so you decide how you want it to work. The take a beating and are bulletproof like 5.0 said. If you like having low gearing for 1/4 mile blast but need more gear for cruising, this is the way to go.
