Default Hole in the dash of '65 coupe

I've got a hole in the dash, and I don't know what it's for. Hole is apx. 6x4 in., with rounded corners, and is trimmed. Looks factory, but I don't know. Hole is about even with ashtray, and just to the right.

Hello. The hole isn't factory. Somebody hacked the hole out for some reason, probably to mount some sort of sound system devive like a tape deck or an amplifier/ equalizer or something. Definitely not factory, though. Hope that helps.

I'm with Veronica on this one. I've never seen a hole to the right of the ash tray on any '65 or '66 or.........unless it was cut into. It's amazing what people did to these cars before they became classics and some even after they became classics. Very sad.

I'm sure that helps.........but it must hurt too.
