Question What value for paperwork?

I have a '65 T code coupe (200 six cyl. A.T., M.S., M.B.). Body is very solid, motor is a little sleepy! When I bought the car the previous(2nd.) owner handed me the original bill of sale( puchased May 11, 1965 in Ft. Lauderdale). What does paperwork like this add to a cars value? P.S. I also have the original cash payment recipts, and Fl registration. Thanks in advance.

It adds a lot of value to perspective buyers or show officials. That shows documentation and is actual proof of it being a factory car for matching up the numbers concerning show points. Factory original cars get higher sale prices if they're all matching numbers and the window paper aids with that. Of course someone building a clone GT350 for example can change everything to fool perspective buyers but if you have the window paper, you can tell whether or not a car is a true model the owner claims it to be.

As to how much value? Well there's no real set price, it will depend on the person buying the car and thier plans for it.

If they want to keep it stock or almost stock then it would be of more value than someone who just wants the car to modify it or clone it. At that point originality doesn't matter to the person.

im sure glad you asked that question, i have the same paper work with my fastback, plus the metal tag with i guess the vin numbers stamped on it, and various other maintiance work done, like batteries and exhaust, if you havent already done it you may wanna have your paper work laminated, and kept in a safe place, like the other guys stated i belive the (worth) of the paper work will be from person to person, and the reason they buying the car as to how much it adds to value, none the less, it sure is interesting looking at a bill of sale from 1966 and how much each option was, amazes me , and how much the person put down on the car and his insurance was added in to the car also.
