I'm currently looking to purchase a 1965 fastback. The warranty plate info. matches the vehicle, however the space where the code for the exterior color is blank. Is this common. Should this be a cause for concern? The color is poppy red. Thanks
At one time red was the most common color to paint a Mustang no matter what color it was from the factory. I had an insurance appraisal done c1984 for my Sauterne Gold '66 coupe and the guy commented afterwards: It would be worth another $200 if only it was red.
You can buy a new warranty plate with anything you want stamped on it. Are you sure yours is an original plate?
