Default I found a 1967 Mustang fastback and I am new to mustangs

I found a 1967 fastback for sale. I have very limited information on what options it has. I was wondering if there are any specific things to look for that would make it more valuable. I want to be able to pay a fair price and still be able to restore it. Thanks in advance

The fold down rear seat, upper and lower console, 390 big block engine, 4 speed trans, 289 HIPO engine, air conditioning (factory), AM/FM radio or 8 track (factory). These are some items that were optional and add to the value. There are things such as paint colors where only a few cars had certain colors that also would add to the value, but some research would be necessary. Listed above are just some of the more obvious items to look for. ---Chuck

Check the floor pans and the frame rails for rust. They can be fixed, but alot of work.

I have a little more info on the car I still have not been able to see it in person. I have been told that it is rust free, has factory a/c and an auto trans. The seller insists that it is all original however they say it has a 351ci. I did not think they had that engine for that year. anyway they are asking 7000.00

In today's market, ANY 67 fastback in driveable condition for that price is a steal. Just be sure to accurately figure what it'll cost to bring it up to your expectations. THAT"S the trick!!!!

The other place that will cost a whole lot of money if it is rusted is the cowl area. You could get a Martini (SP) Report on it if you have the time. They could even tell you on what day it was shipped. They bought all the VIN productions numbers from Ford and tell you all you want to know what the car origially came with for options.

If you can get a driver fastback that hasn't wrecked or rusted out for 7k, snap it up and then go to confession because at that price, you stole it!! To paint with a broad brush, engine work anyone can do, body work is an art...and art is expensive. Don't get hung up over mechanical stuff, but go over the panels with a magnet to check for bondo. Some is to be expected, but you don't want any panel or door thats more bondo than steel. Its all replaceable, it just COSTS. Heck you can get an entire NEW steel body for 15k or so. Good luck!
