I would not spend anything on the
tranny if you are only worried about selling - who knows what someone else would want!
If you have someone looking for an original type car, they won't want to get a car with a manual
tranny when it came with an auto - plus you are going to figure out how to add all the linkages. Same thing the other way - if the car came with a manual
tranny, you have top get rid of the clutch pedal, etc. A lot of times this kind of conversion throws up a flag to the purchaser because they don't know exactly what kinds of trannys, conversions, etc. were done.
On the other hand, if you car is heavily modified, someone may want a manual
tranny or even a later model AOD (seems to be popular now), but I would not do either conversion for resale.
Bottom line - put what you want in there now to drive, and maybe try to do it so you can swap it back to sell your car. That way if you sink big $$$ on a
tranny, you can keep it and use on something else.
