Exclamation 1965 Mustang VIN Number Search

Hey everyone

Its been awhile since Ive been here. My Dad just passed away 2 weeks ago yesterday and he left me his pick-up truck in his will. Well when I started it up and flipped down the visor he had a old 1965 Mustang title up there.

He knew I loved mustangs so now Im trying to track down his old Mustang. He was the 1st buyer back in May of 1965.

Ive tried doing a VIN search but because it does not have 17 characters it doesnt recogonize the VIN.

Can somebody on this site help me track down my fathers Mustang to find out where it is OR if its even still around?

I'd GREATLY APPRECIATE IT!!

Thanks everyone!
-Rich

There should be a way to track it if it is still on the road but I don’t know how you would get it done.

I know I can find the owner of a newer vehicle with a modern VIN number, but don’t know if it can be done with older vehicles.

If you have any connections with the local dispatch center you could ask if they can see if it is currently registered anywhere. I don’t know if our center can do it plus I’m all out of favors from them right now……

you can't any more...Rebecca Schaeffer was killed by a man that used a DMV search to find out where she lived. After that happened, it is now against the law

You need to contact Veronica, she's the one who knows about the classics, especially the VIN numbers. Look her up.

False. The general public can't do it as a routine thing anymore. if you know somebody or the DMV doesn't happen to care, it's not that big of a deal, but most DMVs pitch their records after a while.
