Default Am I The Only One!

A couple of weeks ago I was driving along and my horn burst into flames!

A friend of mine sold me his aftermarket steering wheel. He had everything except the horn spring but said this spring he had would work fine. The spring shorted and a fire started. I was tring to blow it out while getting the car off the road. I remember thinking i hope no one saw this!

Never trust a friend who drives a chevy to work.

Please tell me I'm not the only one this stuff happens to.

My girlfriends dad is a mechanic and i get him to work on my car, he is a big corvette fanatic. Remind me not to let him work on my horn.

Not the first time I've heard of it happening and it always seems to be with the aftermarket steering wheels.

Keep the fire extinguisher handy...........and the marshmellows.

Default I had a similar incident

I had a similar incident, but my original steering wheel shot sparks from the column - it only happened once, and I never was really sure what caused it, even after I took the wheel off.
