Question 1967 Mustang Fastback Seats. Where to find parts? Produced in any other year?

I just purchased a 67 fastback with deluxe or "Black Decor Bucket Seats". The problem is, the back fold-down seat bottom, and one of the bucket seats is missing (the passenger side). I've tried unsuccessfully to find out what other Mustang fastback years I could use the seats from. I also need to know if I can purchase everything necessary to convert a standard seat to the deluxe seat. Any help you could give is appreciated.

Thank you,
WaynO'

Hello. The front buck seats of anything from the 64 1/2s through the the 68s will be the same enough for what you want. The 65/66 pony bucket seat backs are slightly different from the others, but not different enough to where you couldn't use them. All of the other stuff is available through any vintage mustang parts retailer. Hope that helps.

If you're trying to "build" a deluxe bucket seat from scratch, there are a couple of pieces that are NOT available.
1) the lower fiberglas trim around the bucket seat and the stainless steel trim on that piece are NOT available
2) the stainless steel trim around the fiberglas trim that goes over the seat back is not available.
That being said, there are new pieces being put on the market every day (such as the complete floor console and the upper console) that weren't available a couple of years ago. It's possible that what you need is now available, but I haven't seen them or heard of them yet.
Hope that helps.

P.S. I have that interior in my fastback, so I'm pretty familiar with what's available for it.
If I can help further, PM me.

Thank you both for your help! Jay, your 67 is beautiful! My 67 is also Raven Black, with a "gray rear paint treatment". I've been unable to learn anything about the rear paint treatment, do you know anything about that option?

As they say in Brooklyn---I ain't never hoid uh dat!!!!!

However, I have heard that there is a rear taillight panel that is corrugated, and I think it was painted a different color than the rest of the car, but I'm not sure of whether it was a factory option or an aftermarket add-on. I know I've seen a lot of Mustangs, and I think I remember ONE having that taillight panel. Someone else will have to chime in here. It's gotta be pretty rare.

I think you may be talking about an optional piece. It should be a bolt on panel that meets in the center of the tail-light panel around the gas tank and is ribbed. I added one to my car and it was aluminium so I had the ribs polished and painted a different color. Is that what you are talking about?

The Marti report indicates "A5 Raven Black Paint, Ford #1724-A with gray rear paint treatment". The Gray Rear Paint Treatment is also listed as an option that was ordered. Also, back to the seats, mine has fold-down rear seats, did all of them have fold-down? Will a fastback rear seat bottom fit any 67 fastback?

The grey paint was just that, a cool looking dark charcoal paint that got sprayed all over the tail panel before assembly...very rare and cool! I'll see if I have time later on this week to sift thru Jeff Speegle's archives and find a pic. FB fold down assemblies, seats and all will interchange 65-70.

My Marti report doesn't show a console other than the overhead console. Does the floor console have to be listed or was it included with the Interior Decor Group option, or other optional packages?
