Default Head codes

I just bought a 66 Mustang with a 289.

Wher did you get those numbers? I assume they came off of the heads, but, where are they located on the head?
Just curious!

Hi again. Ford put a metal tag with that info on the motors. It is bolted to the top of the intake over on the driver's side on a 66. Usually, that tag is long gone, but you do see them every so often. Actually, a lot more often than you would think. Hope that helps.
