Default Is this a good deal for a suspension kit??

I came across this deal today, and since i'm looking for options for my restoration, i thought about asking your opinion. This is supose to be a complete kit. I'm comparing it to some others and price wise it does sounds good. If anyone has used this kit please let me know>
thanks in advance

I've only heard good things about Laurel Mountain Mustang, and that kit is something you could definately use.

The export brace and monte carlo bar in that picture wont fit your car.Why not just replace all the bushings and ball joints in your control arms.

I was thinking about that, just replacing the bushings. That's alson on of the reasons why i'm glad i joined this forum, to ask questions. Andrew do you recomend doing that for the sake of saving money? or because it wont make a diference? I just thought after 36 years, and if i can afford to change it all maybe i should. All sugestions are welcome, I'm new at this.

Don't know about Laurel Mountain but the kits looks complete. You might also want to check out OpenTrackRacing Opentracker Racing Products - Products. They can assemble a real nice kit for you and include roller-bearing perches which is a real nice upgrade. Contact John Dinkel and he can put a package togehter for you.

you won't see any type of handling difference from replacing your control arms with the same ones, so you might as well just take your old ones, clean them up, replace the bushings, and be on your way. If you want some stiffer handling, check into the opentracker steering upgrades, as well as the reinforced control arms. Springs are definately a must.

Unless your going to a thicker performance control arm theres no need to replace them unless yours are cracked or need replacing. If i was you id rebuild the ones i got with urethane bushing and moog ball joints.Best bang for the buck handling wise is a monte carlo bar which they do make for the 71-73 subframe conectors roller spring perchs and the shelby drop where you lower your upper control arm. Also opentracker has a urethane spring pad for the front its thicker but will out last the car. What do you want to do with the car and whats the budget if theres one.

Thanks for all the feeback fellows. The car pretty much will be a weekend warrior, I work alot and i dont think bringing it to work everyday would be a good idea. I will race it, no doubt. I guess for the most part the car will be for show if you can say that. The more i read your comments, i realize that i should go with just replacing the bushings. In my case, i would really need to replace the leaf springs, the shakle, the coil springs, and the 4 shocks plus the bushing. Once i add that up the total comes to around $600 dollars.
OHHHyeahh there is a budget.......

Default If your front end components are worn out.........

If your front end components are worn out, new bushings won't help, they will just eliminate squeaking.
When you replace components with old parts, the old parts are usually the new weak point and wear out very quickly.
If you are for sure going to race the car (as you say) - you need to replace the control arms and all the other components (tie rod ends, thicker sway bar, etc). The control arms with ball joints already installed are not that expensive - especially if you are going to have to take everything off the car to get to them anyway.
If the control arms have never been replaced, chances are you may not even be able to get a decent alignment of the front end after replacing the bushings.
