Default 1965 Mustang Fuel Pump Stopped Working

My mustang stopped running last week. I found out that no gas was getting to the carburetor. I verified that gas was getting from the tank to the pump. I also verified that the fuel line from the pump to the carburetor was not plugged. I replaced the fuel pump, and still am not getting fuel to the carburetor. Could I have installed the pump incorrectly? Any help is appreciated.

Hello. You might just have a clogged up fuel filter. If you don't have a fuel filter, there could be some crud plugging up the carb itself. An easy way to figure out where the problem is would be to disconnect the fuel line from the carb and have someone crank the motor while you have the fuel line going into a safe container. Remove the coil wire from the distributor cap before you do this just to make sure that the car doesn't pick right then to go ahead and start up. Hope that helps.

As Veronica said make sure the filter is not stopped and if your not getting gas when you have the engine spun over you might have broke the bolt of the end of the cam for the fuel pump, or you could have got a bad fuel pump, did the fuel pump look the same as in the legth of the fuel pump rod??
