As far as performance goes, the actual ram effect doesn't really kick in until your speed exceeds something in the 200 mph range. The reason that the ram air type induction systems seem to make a difference is because they introduce cooler air from above the hood rather than the much warmer air that's under the hood. Cooler air is more dense and, consequently, has more oxygen per given volume, giving you a more efficient burn. Cowl induction works just as well at the speeds most 'muscle' cars work, as would any other system that is bringing air from somewhere other than under the hood, so, the thing to do would be go with the one that you think looks the coolest.
