Default Ram air or Shaker hood?

Hello brother and sisters.
For those of you who have seen my album may have notice that my hood will have to be replace. I have always liked the shaker hood, but which on is better? How will this affect the engine performance. The dyno is one thing the street or track is another. I found this website while looking for the shaker hood, can anyone tell me anything about it.

Hello. As far as performance goes, the actual ram effect doesn't really kick in until your speed exceeds something in the 200 mph range. The reason that the ram air type induction systems seem to make a difference is because they introduce cooler air from above the hood rather than the much warmer air that's under the hood. Cooler air is more dense and, consequently, has more oxygen per given volume, giving you a more efficient burn. Cowl induction works just as well at the speeds most 'muscle' cars work, as would any other system that is bringing air from somewhere other than under the hood, so, the thing to do would be go with the one that you think looks the coolest.
btw, I have not been able to find your album. This could be because of that chronic hallucinogen abuse that resulted in retardation and insanity that I am occassionaly accused of, but I sure can't find it. Oh, well.

That site sells cheap fiberglass remakes.Id get a used or nos one from Shaker and Ram Air Systems both only give you a tiny amount of power but they both look great its up to you which way.To me the nasa hood on the 71-73 looks mean.

Hi again. I found it! Looks like you've got a ways to go yet, but you're on the right track. It appears to be a pretty solid platform to start from. If you take your time and work on it like it's your own car you should come away with something to be proud of.
