Question should i do this?

my dad wants to trade his 69 351w for $200 and my 72 302 both have been siting for a long time sense the 80s both run and don't smoke mine just had the carb rebuilt should i do it? he wants to swap engine and trans but i told him i don't think a c6 will fit a 65 mustang will it and if not what would it take to make it?

Why a c6 a big block wont fit a 65 with out cutting out the shock towers.If its for a small block use a c4 or aod.200 isnt bad depending on which heads and other things they have.

why a c6 cuz thats what he has i have a c4 but he wants to trade but i told hime i dont think it will fit i wanted to know if i was right and if so what would it take to make it fit cuz if its to much work i will keep my c4 and just swap 302 for 351w

If that c6 is from a big block it wont bolt to your engine the c6 is stronger then the c4 but your not making enough torque to need it.Besides you can build a c4 to be almost bullet proof.

ok i just found out that 351w did not come with c6 they came with a fmx so im just keep the c4 but still want to trade 302 for 351w so what would be a good deal my 302 just had carb rebuilt and i think he still wants $200

Not true, 351Ws came with C6s and FMXs....I'd buy the 351W and use a small flywheel so you can bolt up the c4, otherwise you'll have to build a transmission crossmember for the C6 and the c6 will be pretty tight in there.

i think it is a fmx cuz its comeing out of a 69 cougar xr7 convert if i do the trade he is putting the 302 i trade him in the cougar and selling it and im puttin the 351 in my car and the $200 is so he gets some then out of it so im keeping my c4 but what i want to know is what is a old 351 worth and whats my 302 worth and could i find a old 351 cheaper then $200 and the price of my 302 with rebuilt carb

OK i just found a 1969 LTD with a 351w 4bbl in it for $475 think i can get it for 350 to 400 so i don't have to kill the cat going to look at the car in a few days
