I installed the "Pertronix Ignitor" (1st generation) and Flamethrower coil into my 1965 I-6 convertible around a year and a half ago. It was an extremely easy and straight forward installation and I have had absolutely no trouble since. I think that the total cost of the conversion was around $150, but I haven't gone back to check my receipts. You probably have other options, but for quick, easy and reliable, I'd recommend this route. Here's the link to the Pertronix site:

Ignitor

Hope this helps, good luck!

Ditto what Wsovonick says!!! I have an Ignitor 1 in my F/B for well over a year. Not a problem in all that time. It might be noted here that the Ignitor 2 HAS been known to give problems, I'd stick with the Ignitor 1.
By the way, They are only about $70.00. Available in all catalogs and some parts stores.
Good Luck. Jay67fast

Yeah make sure you install a better coil. I had a petronix installed and my car would stall after half an hour. It was the coil. I installed an Accel super-coil and its fine now. I also put in a 347 Stroker in my '67 Stang.
