Default What is the difference of a coupe and a 2+2?

I just got a 1965 coupe. I know what a fastback is, but what is a 2+2?

2+2 is the name for the fastback 65-70 71-73 they called it a sport roof. The 2+2 means you can seat 2 or 4 because the back seat folds down.

More importantly, it's a 65 Mustang! Enjoy!

All the best!

Why is it better that is a 1965? You think its better than the 1967 or a 1969 for some reason?

Well, that's just my personal (and humble) opinion. I happen to like the 67 - 68 body styles but I've always been partial to the 65 and 69 Mustangs. 65's because they were the first and 69's because (again my personal opinion) the sportsroofs, Mach-1's and Boss's of that year are some of the best looking cars Ford has ever produced. Plus, my first Mustang was a 69 Grande. All that said, if you own a Mustang built between 1964 - 1973, no matter the body style, you have a true classic. Enjoy!

All the best!

Forgot to mention this in my last post:

When I got back into Mustangs around 2 years ago, I had initially intended to buy a 67 -68 convertible b/c I really do like that body style. But, a 65 vert came along and I just couldn't say no!

All the best!

To each there own i like all the early mustangs but love the 71-73 sport roof the most since there the odd mustang and not many do them up like the earlier ones.

65-66 Mustang 2+2 is and always will be the mustang. There have been many fine mustangs, but ford will never build another as cool as the original. Just my .02 cents worth.
