Question Ford Casting number D10E 6015 AA, what do i have?

does anyone know what this is the casting to?

Hello. That's a 302 block. If you look right above that number there will be a date code which will tell you what day that block left the foundry.Hope that helps.

thanks, i was told it wa a 289, but i didnt think 289s were made in the 70s

It's a 1971 302 block with an 8.206 deck height.

The 289 and 302 blocks are twins unless you look at casting numbers.Last 289 i know of was 68.

Hi again. Yup, the 289 was phased out during the 68 model year. And yes, that would be in the neighborhood of a 71 block. That casting number would appear on blocks used between aug of 70 up until around dec of 71. If you are putting together a numbers matching motor, the date codes would matter, if you just want a motor to put in a car to drive around in, you would get parts for a 71 model car, like the water pump, etc.. Hope that helps.
