I dont believe a 350 has as much of an advantage of what your implying. Either way you going to O reilleys to get a timing cover, and either way they probably have to order the part from another store, so whats the big deal?
I have nothing against chevy or anything but if your going to stick a chevy motor in a mustang you dont have the decency to own one anyway, so dont bother. Get a camaro and call it a day if they're so much better. Windsors just about have as much aftermarket parts as SBF anyways and being a hair bit more $, so either buck up or suck it up.
I dont know why someone will also take the crap theyd get from others too. Just think about it, you meet a new friend and they say,"wow what does that have under the hood'? Oh, um....a 350..."WTF?" All you would get is crap from others. Its a gearhead LAW. And just plain embarassing.

I would use a ls2 or ls7 over a 350 any day.And with the coil packs its easier to mount in the car no firewall bump for the dizzy.

To say that the aftermarket has caught up with ford is a complete joke. The fact of the matter is that you can get 350 parts all day long at your neighborhood convenience store for almost nothing and here I sit. Still waiting on mail order parts for my 302 because I cant get them locally.
GM parts have always been cheaper than Ford parts, that is still a fact today. It all depends on what you want to build. I put a late model 5.0 motor in my car and even to this day whenever I do anything to my car I know it's not going to go smoothly. But hey, that;s just the way it is and I accept it.
I still have the opinion that if I had a 350 I would put it in a Chevy!

That is a simple cold air box that connects straight to the top of the carb. I have decided not to use it. Instead I will be making my own custom plenom and using the ram air. I had originaly planned on using a simple but good looking chrome intake that matches the valve covers, but it no longer fits due to the size of the gm distributer. I have more pics posted at
