hi guys, im new here to this site. i just bought what should be a 65 mustang, but my concern has to do with the vin numbers not matching. the drivers side fender says its an 1666 and so does the engine but the door and title says its a 1965, any other location where the vins are? any input is welcomed.

Hello : Here is a picture of the vin locations. The two that are closer to the firewall you have to move the fender out of the way to see them. The vin that is stamped on the car is the car that you have. People frequently replace a rusty door with a good one from another car, and that door tag even says ' Not for title or registration purposes' None of this would really be a problem until the time comes when you sell the car. Hope that helps.

thanks Veronica.ill get the actual vin # and post it to verify its a 1966. But what about the title if its the wrong vin what do i do, go to DMV give them the right vin from the frame?
