DO NOT DO IT!!!!!! basically, the ONLY pieces that are the same is the body, interrior (minus wiring) chrome, gas tank, and the tail lamp wiring, even the fuel line from the tank to the fuel pump is different

I would say it all depends on your abilities/cash flow, and what you are look to get? if your looking for more power you cant get lots o power out of the six... you could put a good carb, cam and header on it.. and that would wake it up big time.. or do a JY turbo and smoke most NA V8's

I will have to agree with Lightning, it all depends on you. I upgraded my 65 from a six to a 302, and it was not cheap. It was a little easier for us as we had a donor car to swap parts off of. You will need to sit down and see what you want, how much you have to spend, and what your skills are in doing the work. Good luck to you.

I wish I had read this post 3 months ago i am well into my converstion and have ran into all kinds of little issues. My newest one is the gas pedal. The accelarator rod is on the right for a v6 and left on a v8. You are right nothing is the same.
But I am still having fun doing it
